Well, I got a special card, too. It had a picture of the most beautiful blonde, blue-eyed baby girl with a very proud, extremely happy and handsome daddy (I knew it was her daddy because their eyes matched so perfectly). Some cards just make you smile and this was definitely one with joy spilling from it. Thank you.
Christmas with a one year old is an experience-you suddenly realize how large a tree can look when you're 2 feet tall, how bright the lights shine, how happy the music. You are given the gift of Christmas all over again.
CW had so many presents that we did the day in shifts; he'd open a few, play, sleep, and start over. He was very disappointed on Dec. 26 when there were no new gifts under the tree and rummaged around for a long time sure that they must be there. So I wrapped up some from the day before and he happily tore them open again, surprised and delighted with his new gifts. Memories must not be long at one.
Take lots of pictures!

"I would like to see that one day. Farolitos. Ancient land. Reverent continuity."

Alex, Caroline, 'nator; the farolitos are now all lit.

From the orchard to the river. Up the steps to the door.

I am unburned.

It's not like what happens where I live. And comforting, really comforting, to know it goes on.

~ big smiling guy.
