thanks for the information. i found the listings for the new sector spdr's -- (although the american exchange for the last week has been less than helpful) -- and now can track them. i keep a lot of moving averages. just for discussion's sake, what i plan to do with these new sectors is to keep 4-week ema's, and then each week buy the one or two sector funds whose weekly closing price is the highest percentage above the ema. ( this kind of active trading becomes possible now because of discount brokerages. ) in addition, i keep a lot of ema's on the s&p 500 and i would get out of all sectors should the s&p 500 drop below its 9-week moving average. this is a simple system, and pretty close to the work done on the fidelity sectors by the people who use the fasttrack software. best, warrenm.
