OT -MMike - Whether the French were or were not in fact military superpowers is irrelevant to the thesis of the book. France was still a CULTURAL Superpower. Then these podunk Americans come around and think that just because they can make things, become the arsenal of the Free World and beat back armies that the French should defer to them? <gg> Actually the book is more about the response by the French to American commercial icons like Coca-Cola etc. You would enjoy it.
