tease him because we like him so much.

Same with the French. To try to say something a French
existentialist like Sartre, Camus or Simone de Beauvoir would
say - "love and hate are opposite sides of the same coin". (I just
made that up but it sounded like it was in the right ball park).

More seriously,

I went back to look at the article that the France Telecom put out. It doesn't seem that different than the agreement towards "convergence" that we were looking on favorably earlier. I.e evidence that NTT was backing off the official W-CDMA. There is a bit about the need to have "fair" compensation for IPR though that I didn't see ealier. Here it is:
