Daddy J - Best wishes to you on this holiday. What a great early present. Say hi to little Trader M (I'm sure she'll be beating many of us in the market in just a few years *g*) from her proud, "slightly-extended" family.

Congratulations.

I better get back in bed. I hear sleigh bells!!! ;)

Trader J. What a nice post to read first thing on Christmas morning. This is one of the more "gentler" threads on SI, and it is appropriate to read such a post here.

Hope that you and your wife enjoy your "Christmas present", and that you will keep us posted on your family as well as market changes during the coming year.

Jim

What a wonderful Christmas present, Jeff! Glad all are home and safe and sound. I have one son, 18. Missed a lot of him growing up because I was on the road with last job. I left it to be here the last year or two before he leaves to start his own life. So don't ever let anything come between you and your baby girl. They're grown and gone before you even know it! : (

Hi Trader J,
Congratulations and Best Wishes to your family.

Your suggestion to RedCross contribution is very realistic...in fact we are supporting member of our GreatPrinceton RedCross: we have been contributing to them on the yearly basis. They do a very good job for
the community (fire) and respond very quickly to national and international acts of GOD: hurricane, tornado,typhoon,...

Happy holidays...

Trader J , Congratulations!! What a special Christmas for you.
Agree regarding Red Cross. I had a fire and lost everything but the clothes at the cleaners. I was young and had no renters insurance. The Red Cross helped me too.

Happy Holiday

Jim,

Congrats on your new baby girl! My kids are 15 and 13 and give my life a lot of joy and purpose. I truly believe that without kids life would be a little empty.

It sounds like it was a long hard process but the important part is that your wife and baby are both healthy.

Again congratulations and Merry Christmas to you and your new family!

Trader J - Congratulations.

I agree that the role of a coach is important but I can't even begin to imagine 50 hours of labor and pain. I participated in 3 births and will always remember how brave, dedicated and strong my wife was. All in all childbirth is an amazing process. As one doctor explained to me, given all the things that must go exactly right for the child to be born healthy, it is truly astounding that the most births come out fine.

Congratulations again and I like the name.

My heartfelt best wishes (first to Megan) and you and MacKenzie Nicole. You post was such a beautiful expression of love and feeling that I hope you will print it and save it in the baby book. I can tell you that a girl child especially will cherish reading of her father's thoughts and feelings surrounding her birth. (Megan will also appreciate it).
Especially for Megan...beware the baby blues that may follow such an arduous delivery...and cut yourself some slack in your efforts to become the 'perfect' mommy.
God Bless,
Merg

Jeff,

Reading your story reminded me of the birth of our two sons, both section babies. Section babies have the most beautiful heads... they are spared from being coneheads. I am glad that everything turned out well and that you all are resting on this holy day. Just wait till you get them home, then the real fun begins.

God Bless,

Todd

CONGRATULATIONS:

Our second child, now 20 months, was a difficult birth, but nothing, NOTHING like the story you told.

I said this once before, but now I'm sure, this thread would make a great book.

You've really started something here and you have touched my emotions through a cold, surreal, distant technology. I didn't think that could be done.

Thank you traderJ.
I'm sending a check to the Red Cross regardless.

Trader J,

I was deeply touched in your sharing with us such a personal side to the beginning of a new life. My heart went out to both you and Megan. I have been an active participant in both the coaching and the delivering and both are diffucult in their own ways. I hope that, as was previously mentioned, you save the message you shared with us, your electronic family, in her baby book. She will be as moved as many of us have been. After some sleep and an adjustment into a routine that is now controlled by Mackenzie, you will realize one day that you didn't think you could ever love something so much. Children are a precious gift. Please extend my congratulations to your wife and I wish her a speedy recovery. She will need your attention and assistance in the next few weeks. Although we have missed you, please don't rush your return to the thread.

Congratulations!!!!-MMK

Jeff,
Congratulations. Just drove home from S.Carolina to Boston and read your happy announcement.

I Have three children (including twins) and was similarly amazed each time. I am even more amazed by the reiliency of women. Why any woman would agree to more children after experiencing childbirth is well beyond my comprehension. Perhaps nature has a way of making them forget what the experience was really like.

Best wishes to you, your family, and everyone else on this thread who have been so helpful.

Regards.

Len
