Great Book!

I just started reading a great book on valuations and market psychology. It really fits what I try to do and promises to be a good tool for finding when to get into what we know are great value stocks.

"Contrarian Investment Strategies : The Next Generation : Beat the Market by Going Against the Crowd"

David N. Dreman / Hardcover / Published 1998

I try to buy great companies in industries when no one on the street really wants them...

I bought IBM, Intel and MSFT in 1993 and the book was saying how 1992 and 1993 were the times to buy these stocks... I bought semicaps in the 1997 downturn getting AMAT for $12 (split adjusted). This season I've been buying Lam, ABF and just recently, UTEK, as it has not participated much in the rally. Also, health care and drug stocks were hammered when the street feared Billery would do some healthcare plan so they have done well lately as a result.

Now I wonder if Oil & gas and banks are in a similar situation? When is the time to buy? I am hoping the book gives some good insight.

Peace on earth and good profits to all!

btw, be thankful the internuts chase after those stocks. It creates a vacuum in other areas of the market leading to great profit potential for us Feringi!
