Kerry, good points but an important distinction is the left wing media seeks to create a poll which supports its bias whereas the bias on the net exists because of the group which happens to congregate on the net. Mike

Maybe so, but in light of the fact that the Senate is primarily male and certainly wealthy, maybe web polls are a better predictor of what the Senate will do?

Also, in my experience it is almost impossible to get anyone I know on the phone the first time, I have to play phone tag with answering machines, I wonder how "scientific" it is to poll people who happen to be home, not doing anything pressing, when the pollster calls? I bet this is weighted towards people without jobs, e.g., retirees and stay-at-home wives.
