Alot of people think of internet stocks as a "trend", like biotech stocks were in the 80s...But when you take a real good look at it, the internet offers endless possibilities that biotechs never did...These stocks cost as much as they do because people see the internet endlessly growing...and with it so grows the chances of having huge profits through internet companies....I personally don't see this sector as a "trend" and when I take a good look into the future, I can only see the $$$ growing as fast as the internet...I'm not saying the Amazons and Ebays are worth as much as their current stock value, but I am saying that I don't see the internet sector ever crumbling the way some "experts" would have us believe.

Nelson, I watch a variety of intenet stocks, from the leaders to second tier to third tier. My point was meant in a relative sense rather than an absolute sense, and some stocks got very badly hit, giving up a lot of the gains they had made the previous day.

Sorry if the reasoning of my post was difficult for you to discern.

As for your doomsday scenario, I personally doubt it, unless the market drops over 1000 points in a day, and then it will be the ones that have run up recently without forming a base. The more real danger is holding on to a position that slowly but surely drifts down because the move in the stock had no fundamental reason, and not taking the appropriate action. Even then, its amazing how some of these dogs eventually come back because the sector gets hot.

As for the final comment, if people are over-leveraged and buying these stocks on margin, they may get wiped out. Fortunately, thats not a problem I have.

Good luck all

Stephen
