David, The typical causes of peripheral vascular disease are hypertension, high cholesterol levels, diabetes, smoking, and high triglyceride levels. The market is quite large although I don't have any figures at hand. Traditional treatment of symptomatic peripheral vascular disease has been several medications (which do not work very well) and surgery to place artificial bypass vessels. I am sure the generation of new blood vessels in the heart would be of possible great therapeutic importance in the treatment of coronary artery disease as well. Regards, Steve Rachbach
