Win9x systems seem to slow down the longer they stay on
I have noticed the same thing. I believe this has to do with the very limited memory management of the Win9x design as opposed to a true virtual memory scheme like NT or Linux. Win9x gradually gets tangled up in its underwear. I have found Win98 to be worse in this regard than Win95.
