Rose would <<never, ever, vote for anyone who clearly went
against the people's wishes>> Hitler is smiling in his comfy
littly bunker. Senator McCarthy say's: "Where were you when
I needed you.". Nixon says: "Way to go kid, everyone liked me
before I resigned". Ted Kennedy: "Thanks sweatheart...just plain
thanks. Some night let's go for a quiet drive together." President
Reagen says:" There you go again...I told you I didn't do anything
in Iran Contra...and now you speak up." History is littered with
tragedy born of blind 'group think'. In fact, usually the least
popular decision in tough times is the correct one...not the other
way around. If polls were worth a damn, we wouldn't need elections,
leaders with character, or laws.

About 25,000 posts ago on some other Clinton threads I took the position that we the voters hired this guy,And as such we determine the job description. In this description we do not find "role model"nor do we see his job is to send messages to little children about behavior. The guy's job is to run the country. Where as I don't like everything that he has done. By and large the American people do approve of his performance.Boss hires President boss likes job being done boss does not fire President. End of story.
About this time I read a rather longwinded post by "Dougin" a former judge. He so impressed me that I began to see that the real defense is that his crimes do not fall under the category of impeachable offences. Our system of government has proven an to be an amazing success story. That the founding fathers could have for seen all the potential pitfalls never ceases to blow me away[no pun] "Treason, bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors" two thirds vote by the Senate. Think about it. Two hundreds years and man walks on the moon, instant communication around the world. No one could have envisioned the world we live in. Still thanks to the foresight of these men and our adherence to the rules set down by them our government still endures in this completely different world. Clinton will not be thrown out because the Constitution has for seen the Republicans and made sure it could not happen.
