Amazon lawyer:

"But judge, we are just a tiny little independant bookseller, while Barnes and Noble is a dangerous goliath that must be stopped!"

Barnes and Noble lawyer:

"Exhibit #1, your honor. Today's closing price of Amazon.com's stock. They are 8 times larger than barnes and noble."

Judge:

"Case dismissed. The purchase is approved."

Jack,

It is a non issue in my opinion. Amazon cannot turn a profit on books and that is clear. The issue is where AMZN goes next for better margins. Music and videos will not do it. Those products have the same fulfillment cost problems and not enough margin.
