It's me again, I just got a PM requesting clarification of my Siemens question. This thread is quiet enough. I might as well respond to it here. Here's a portion of the original email I sent to Xybernaut: >>>As an enthusiastic Xybernaut warrant holder, >>>I'm curious about the current MA-IV backlog >>>situation. >>> >>>Does one (a backlog) exist? Is production >>>moving well? Is the Siemens line running >>>yet? Is product yet hitting the streets >>>(I know deliveries start sometime this month). >>> >>>I see pieces falling into place which will >>>allow the MA-IV to hit a technical 'critical >>>mass' and gain a very profitable industrial >>>foothold this year. However, your recent >>>press releases have been devoid of 'anticipated >>>sales', 'production', and of 'backlog' >>>information. Will contract customers be >>>scooping up early stock, making street >>>availability lean for a few weeks? Are many >>>large MA-IV contracts based on pilot-program >>>trials of the 133P? It's my experience that starting one production line at a time (the Sony line, in this case) works out best. This allows fully proving out build procedures, allowing the second line (Siemens) to come on-line very quickly using proven methods. Saves time and money. My Siemens question sought to clarify whether the stage was reached where both lines were running. My present assumption, based only on past startups, is that the Sony line will be running at capacity after the holidays. I have no details as to the production speed. I also expect that contract customers will be getting nearly all of the early stock (I was incorrectly skeptical that there might not be contract backorders, due to the lack of press on the topic). Xybernaut apparently plans to dedicate a 'tickler' quantity of early production (15% would be my irrelevant guess) to the media and to street sales. Heavy advertising right now might not be wise until street inventory becomes available. (I'm guessing, I'm guessing, I'm generally wrong). It's not good to get customers interested when the shelf stock is already sold to contracts. Expect an orchestrated media and advertising blitz when street stock is available in quantity. I should probably stop talking right now. I've got a whole phantom scenario painted in my head about what's happening at Xybernaut right now. Most is certainly not accurate. What I do see is that things are moving fast, and management is releasing information conservatively to keep outside interest under control until sufficient product is available. This is good, IMO. I swear, I'm going to quiet down. Real soon. Shoe.
