I thought it was an interesting idea about the way Win98 loads into memory versus Win95, but I haven't been able to verify it anywhere yet (just saw the post today). I have heard that Win98 has better memory management but this is the first mention of anything specific. But, it's all mere theory until it goes into your computer and works! You may be right about the chipset. Would be interesting to find out, but it would cost some time and about a hundred dollars for a MoBo, plus the memory. I was thinking of doing that exact upgrade a while ago, but may just wait for my next computer, like you.
