There is a MAJOR cover story in today's Sunday New York Times about Y2K ... the closing paragraph of the three page report quotes Peter De Jager (Ed Yardeni's co-Paul Revere) as saying (as opposed to his previous concerns) that he thinks the world will "muddle" through the Y2K problem ... (which is the biggest vote of confidence I've heard in awhile). But his opinion comes at the end of an article which basically is sounding desperate alarms for remediation.

There is a section devoted to embedded chips in which the biggest concern raised is not that utilities or assembly lines will affected (they do get their due diligence though), but the thousands of medical devices which are, to a certain extent, date dependent ... (as we know, TAVA is involved in a partnership dealing with the remediation of same).

In the 18 months or so that I've been interested in TAVA, this article provides the most in-depth information regarding Y2K that I've seen given on the subject in the New York City press.

Dear JWK: A very professionally written piece. Much of it appears to jive with what Jenkins has been saying for a long time. Part I liked the best was that problem will go on for years after 2,000. If that is so, then seems to me TAVA will have this work available to it, in addition to the expanded core business. JDN
