Japan Unveils 1999 Draft Budget,
Will Double Size of Annual Deficit
Associated Press

TOKYO -- Japan's Cabinet unveiled on Friday a draft budget for 1999 that will double the annual deficit as it pays for efforts to jump-start the nation's moribund economy.

However, that task is not getting any easier and a new batch of government figures showed key indicators continuing to worsen with signs that Japan's harshest recession since World War II was getting deeper.

Japan's Jobless Rate Rises to 4.4%, A Post-War High and on Par With U.S.

The November figures showed industrial output still sliding, sales at department stores slumping and unemployment at a new postwar high."

I'd be a little careful here. I did a TA on the dow and nas. Both remain bullish. Something has to give here.
Smiles,
Glenn
