Guess what, with Iomega's new clik! technology you can get 40MB for $9.99 ......of course if you want to spend $60 you could bet 240 MB of storage.............if this tech catches on before the Flash market can lower costs and decrease price .........it will be interesting to say the least. What is SNDK's position in response to clik!.........are they concerned at all......how do they intend to answer this challenge.

Khan,

You are correct. The cost of removable flash memory needs to come down. I would like to see point-and-shoot digital cameras with megapixel capacity under $300 and 2 megapixel SLR cameras for under $500 with removalbe flash prices of $1.00/MB. Then sales will really take off.

I personally would not pay $48 for a 8 MB MMC card. (What does it cost to make a card such as MMC anyway? They look almost as cheap as the black tortilla known as SmartMedia.)

I still see SmartMedia as a bigger threat than Clik! for reasons that many people have already pointed out.

The double density (2 bits/cell) technology cannot be used for digital photography because of difficulties with write speed. That was in a press release about 3 months ago if I recall correctly.

Happy New Year to Everyone!

P.S. I am still waiting for my present from Eli!
