Hello Cal: People that live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.,
unless of course your comments in postings 1700., 1708., 2069.,
2537 on the Winspear thread leaves you in a position to stereotype
Winspears management and not be accountible for your posts. By inference you are implying that I think people of the North are less
sophisticated, knowledgeable, professional. I never implied anything
of the sort in that post. So I would appreciate a retraction on your part. I stand corrected as to the critical comments on the Premier.,
no offense intended., but it did illicit the desired results., which should
be that both sides of the story should be presented., and thanks Taylor for your postings and Bob., as i see it none of the issues are
insurmountible., and I fully expect the project to proceed. As well., I
have picked up some more shares recently.
So with all due respect., Cal., sensitivitity to issues are good., the juices flow and people get off their butts and do some research
Sincerely
George J. Tromp

I think the truth is somewhere in between. The native groups are after guarantees of benefits, as well as concerns about the environment. However, money motivates these people probably more, with the exception of the elders. But the leadership, for the most part, are boomers. And they are more interested in the $$, economic development than they are in hunting. Lets face it, half of the NWT's aboriginal population is under 25. They are more concerned about jobs, and won't be returning to land anytime soon - save for how the non-aborginal population enjoys the outdoors.

I agree with your comment about the Premier or GNWT, they are fairly pro-Mining Development despite what the Fraser Ins? has to say about the NWT....

What surprises me is that I thought that ABer had been very progressive and had signed deals with all the communities in the effected area. Perhaps they missed a few native groups?
