Wasn't Larry Ellison just issuing a press release about
some computer that didn't need Windows, but had some
operating system that ran off the solaris server with an
Oracle Db. Ha, what a joke! No IT manager who liked their
job would buy into this concept.

Actually, I have to thank Oracle and Netscape for lobbying
this DOJ case, it created a buying opportunity for Microsoft
which has run up like 40 points, as well as creating a fantastic
buy in AOL when they bought out Netscape.

I think if they want to slay Microsoft, the way to do it is to
leverage the software prowess of Sun Microsystems, and Netscape
Navigator. If they can somehow seamlessly merge Navigator with
Java applications that work, the inter/intra/extra nets, and
back office functionality with Solaris and Unix, then they can
muscle out Windows NT. You see, NT is not scalable, never will be.
A RDBMS running on NT chokes once you get 100K records or so. So NT will never be the total enterprise package. If you can have all the desktop, back office, and internet funtionality seamless on Navigator/Solaris/Unix, you no longer need Windows running on the
desktops, you just run Navigator. I think IT managers could buy into that, and Microsoft would be in deep doo doo. Just my theory FWIW.

Whenever you hear any release from Larry Ellison about how much he hated MSFT and that he wanted to destroy MSFT, then it is the time to buy MSFT.

Larry Ellison is a whining cry baby that has inferior products, services, and stock appreciation. Bill Gates owns Larry Ellison!
