In speaking with utilities, they claim they have been on this since it was first identified and have already replaced most Y2K noncompliant PCs in the course of regular upgrades. I think the same must be true elsewhere --

Bad example tip. Utilities are and have been really under the gun for quite awhile on Y2k, since the power grid dropping is sort of a problem. -g-

Even so, if they got softy 98 they still have to patch it up. The hard thing for utilities will not be PCs. Look to see how many nuke plants are shut down by NRC/DOE come June because they can't cut the mustard. The bunny huggers don't want them buggers doing a Chernobyl. -g- Neither do I, for that matter.
