do you know how many files have been lost by people because they don't have save capability on this pitiful SI editors Speaking of control codes, as a precaution on long posts I type {Ctrl}-AC (hold down {Ctrl}, and while holding it down type "A" then "C"). This 1) selects all the text in the active (edit) window and 2) copies it to the clipboard. Thus, if you get some odd error message and lose your text you just need to go back to the applicable post, hit respond again, and then type {Ctrl}-V to insert it back in. - Jeff

Joe....your suggestion for using an external editor for SI is a good one, but I can not believe that you seriously find the creature comforts on SI to be lacking.....do you???? Man, this is the hands down primo, numero uno investment-hack-poet dig in the entire universe. I guess your complaint comes from having to pay a fee...am I right???? Ya see, Joe, muh man, some of us were around here before they used to charge, and some of us have watched it evolve into this really groovin kind of place. Why, I use the external editor for the simple reason that certain of my posts have "disappeared" in the past and come with a gentle (but highly impersonal) notice that my posting privs have been SUSPENDED, but you don't see me bitching about that shit do you????? Nah man, it's delivery, it's how you present yourself, and how many posters will gripe when yo butt gets canned, you see my point???? So, the next time you want to cry about something, cry about global warming or something, leave these hard working folks alone to do all this neat stuff....and I would even bet if you presented your criticism in a nicely worded (I could help you with this if you like) suggestion to Jeff or Brad, that, oh, within minutes they would come up with something really slick! Cuz that's how conditions are on Silicon Investor, this is the cyber-mecca of investing coolness! You do know I am just razzing you, right?????<g> Cheers!
