I've thought about this and have only one reason to want to keep all accounts with one broker- the questionable theory of perhaps getting treated a little better when/if disputes over trades arise if the total amount of $$ in accounts with a broker is > rather than < . Is this true? Certainly, thanks to a little personal luck in starting out working for a company that eventually ipo'd and gave its' employees lotsa stock in lieu of pension plan, the amount in my IRA is much much much > than the amount in non. So, basically, thinking that I might get treated a little better in broker disputes has been the only reason that I have tried to keep all with one broker. Not sure how valid this is. Still thinking about this one, but will probably leave IRA with present broker and then sign up for another with L2 and move regular account and hope for the best if problems arise.
