Khalil, government equity investment will be good for the first few years as it will start out "fair and square". But, as with all government activity, it will become corrupted over time with the investments "targeted" to whatever companies are "politically correct" for the party in power at the time.

A lot of potential for abuse of power. I can imagine the government telling company X to do this or not do that else the government will sell its stock and collapse the company stock price.

I don't like it, but I do recognize that the mere mention of it is bullish short term.
