The split only means the total share outstanding will be doubled, and the total cap will be the same as before the split. As to how high the total caps will be after couple of splits , well sky is the limit, as long as the company continues its current growing path. As we know that the world population continues to grow, and as well as the economic scales. Couple years ago we thought the DOW 1000 was too high, and now we are talking about DOW of 10000, and 10 years from now , we will get used to a DOW of 100000. The world population is about 4.5 billion and many families in the rest of the world did not have a computer yet, even in the US only 40% of families had computers, and these computers need to be upgraded from time to time as new applications continue to hit the market which need more powerful PCs. Just couple years ago , PC was used as a tool for calculation and each PC is isolated from each other, that is why we do not have the IE integrated with the OS at that time. The modern PCs are no longer being used as a tool for complex calculation only, it is a tool for communication, for entertainment , so the application will explode in the next couple years, which means more new software will hit the market , and MSFT is in the center of this industry. If you look at the big pictures, then you will not have any doubt that Microsoft will grow even faster in the next five to ten years, so I would not be surprised to see Microsoft hit $1000 in the next three years. As to how high the total Microsoft's cap will be, well, who cares, that is just a psychological number. As long as the company continues its growth, sky is the limit of the total caps, that is just natural rules. Who said the total caps of Microsoft should be limited to be under 1 trillium ? Couple years ago we said it is impossible for the total caps of Microsoft to hit 100 Billions, and see what it is now !!!!!!!!!!!!
