Woohoo I hooked me a live one this time! Okay, once more into the fray.

>>You're one of the purists who really believe this is all about perjury.

It is all about perjury. It would have only been about adultery and bad judgment if the President hadn't decided to lie under oath. But he made that decision and here we are.

>>the connections between Starr and the reactionaries

Which reactionaries? My dictionary defines reactionary as "characterized by reaction, esp. in politics." It seems to me that the Democratic spin has been that the Republicans caused this whole mess, in which case the Dems would be the "reactionaries."

>>Paula Jones case was funded by the right wing.

And Clinton's defense is funded by the Left. What of it?

>>Who cares if Starr wanted Lewinksy to wear a wire into the White House

I certainly don't.

>>Never mind five years of character assassination.

You give the Republicans too much credit. Until Bill gave them the rope with which to hang him, they were just feeble voices crying into the void, "Look, look! The emperor has no pants!"

>>you can bet that no president, Republican or Democrat, will ever be free from the scurrilous attacks that Clinton has suffered.

This is undoubtedly true, but I do hope that future presidents will be honorable enough that they will be free from the legitimate ones.
