Victor, Long time not knowing answers to sirs questions...<g> "Untill ve kan make zem tok", I found this on an eMail about CPQ e-Commerce in Europe. Interesting reading from a European CPQ performance and market share perspective.... HCompaq Demonstrates Leadership With New E-Commerce Record Of US$ One Billion Sales In Q4 1998 MUNICH, December 21, 1998 – Compaq Computer Corporation today announced that it surpassed US$ 1 Billion in electronic commerce sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in Q4 1998. Weekly orders peaked at US$ 153 million mid November, setting a new record for the company. Compaq's e-commerce strategy focuses on supporting distribution partners and system resellers, enhancing customer service and reducing channel inventory. “Existing electronic commerce solutions have already significantly improved business efficiency. Order and trading cycles have been reduced from hours to seconds and inventory in the supply chain decreased by 38 percent in Q3 1998 compared to Q3 1997,” said Kasper Rorsted, Compaq EMEA's vice president, Marketing and Electronic Commerce. Compaq views its electronic commerce solutions from a full value chain perspective, implementing this key strategy across all of its business processes. A total of 1,700 channel and service partners in EMEA, among them ten of Compaq's biggest European channel partners, are now operating total electronic trading with the company. More than 95 percent of these orders are processed without any manual intervention, placing Compaq among the leaders in employing business-to-business e-commerce solutions. The changes in the Compaq business model over the past 12 months along with the continuous investment in electronic commerce infrastructure is clearly paying off resulting in a 1.1 percent point market share increase in Q3 1998 and a total market share of 18.5 % in Western Europe.
