I'm still holding CCSI, TERA, MCAR and ENML short. But in the past few weeks I have made significant money on the long side with short-term trades in AOL, CMGI, INKT, EBAY, SKYM, KTEL and others. My New Year's resolution (a bit early but what the hell) is to follow the mo-mo stocks of the day and make what I can scalping.

It helps me finance my value investing.

xcr, agreed.

Although I didn't use Bill Wexlers long picks - except a $1.5 ride on CPU, I understood the message "This market should not be shorted".
The other message was (which I posted on several threads): No shorts in the big issues. Too much power not only to lift the big guns by single % a day but to absorb the few pieces hitting the market. Therefore I have no idea what should stop yahoo, amzn, ebay & cmgi.

Bill meant: Ok, no need to be net short the market.

But selling (even: short selling an issue) demanded luck and high sensibility for the ending of a momentum-run up.

Therefore I shorted and averaged up - CNWK, SPYG and recently IMAL...

Unfortunately I was forced out of ZONA,ENML and recently FIBR. Others, like CYPH and MCHM I covered earlier.
My take is that "crowded" shorts (AG language) should be avoided in bull times, you can't bet whether you are alive the other day. What has been a welcome - and predictable support in bear times, turned into a bunch of gasoline in the ongoing bull market.
