My initial reaction is to want to shoot the owner.

I would say that would be aggressive, but not mean. I was attacked one time by some giant dog. I was on my bike. The dog ran up and clamped my leg. Then he let go. The thing I recall the most is the pressure. It was extreme, I didn't realize that a dog could bite that hard.

My idea is to put the owners and the dogs in a cage and see who eats whom.

Years ago I as on my Kaw 900 with a date, just riding an oil and chip road next to a railroad track in the country. A guy was working his two dobermans on the RR right of way. He saw us and sicced his dogs on us. I saw him swing his arm around and point at us so it was deliberate. The two dogs charged us but one got in front of the bike and was run over, the other returned to heel.

I let my date off way up the road and came back to a safe distance. I asked the idiot if I could call a vet or someone. I was called every cuss word in the book.
