Wayne, et al,

Barron's GMI was 312.10 on 12/31/98, down from 342.99 last week. With the POG up slightly to 288.70 (12/31), the ratio was 1.08, down significantly from last week's 1.20 and is the lowest ratio during the year. The ratio continues to suggest that the XAU will be substantially higher by the end of 99. The ratio of 1.08 is nearly as low as the lowest ratio indicated in the data referenced in post 9 of this thread. The data indicates that, in the past, the GMI nearly doubled within the next year when the ratio was this low. Let's hope history repeats itself.

Cheers,
Larry
