"My point is - all thinks being equal - copy and past should work regardless of the browser being used."

david,

thanks for your reply. the copy/paste example you used was the keyboard, or the ctrl+c and ctrl+v method. this method seems to be the least impacted (if it is impacted at all) by the browser type. it pretty much works regardless of the browser.

but the mouse click method (for want of a better term) seems to be very much at the mercy of which browser version one is running. a quick for instance is the fellow poster (#reply-6978752) who described highlighting text, then right clicking to choose copy, then paste... these selections are not available on either msie3.0 or nn3.0. but they are available on msie4.0 and nn4.0 and up.

To All: sorry if this has been posted before. Recently my copy/paste from a SI post to my email program (Outlook) causes problems for some of my AOL email readers. They get the message outline but no message.

Anyone know why this happens and what can be done to fix it? Strange that some of my AOL readers see all.

Thanks.

Jim
