Saudi's and Iran are facing huge deficits as a percentage of GDP, it is second time in last two months that Saudi's have borrowed from open markets..a devaluation of ME currencies can have negative impact on Banking stocks... Watch out for continued lowering of Oil, I have decided to go out of my Oil positions if Oil drops below 9.20$-- the contagion lowering prices will have some impact on global equity markets if oil fails to find bottom somewhere here..

Hello IKE: thanks for your holiday greetings; I'm sure your family is enjoying a welcome rest; the children from schoolwork,btw do your boys play video games; I've been doing some "curbside market analysis" while shopping for gifts recently, and noted the frenzy of buying interest in Sony Playstation and Nintendo, as well as PC video games at Best Buy and gaming stores in my area; should bode well for SNE profits
RE: RUT, our patience with small caps is beginning to pay off; solid multiple closes above 402 O/H resistance; Futures at 415 today.
What do you think about adding to positions in RUT index funds at this point, moving toward your near term target at 435?

I read post re: bullish/bearish sentiment and implications therof;
bullish now at 53%; bearish at only 20%; would you be looking for a return to, say, the 70% range for bullish before a correction?

Chart seems to show highest S/T bearish at 70% +/- prior to 2nd market dip to 200 day support at S+P 950 range about 9/25/98; this coincides with your call for a up move.
Based upon your track record, calling these moves in the market; you've got me ruminating about a possible market break, and moving very cautiously; in and out trades on issues with good TA/new highs along with positive fundamentals/news e.g. UIS, AAPL(short term to 1/5/99 Mac World/Steve Jobs positive publicity).

Being Irish, I like AIB(Allied Irish Bank); ADR's are thinly traded here, but fundamentals are strong and may play into your expected upwards revaluation for all ADRs/Europe with the Euro after the first of the year. The stock has done very well for me this year, and the Irish economy is very strong; also like pharmacutical, Elan(ELN); may be in recovery from fall sell off now; strong fundamentals; very low tax rate in Ireland will contribute to profit margins, vis a vis drug firms in higher tax base countries.
I follow these on the internet, the financial pages of the Irish Times; it is truly an amazing tool, this internet, no?

Could you elaborate on the AMZN/DOT hedge trade strategy?
Don't know if I have the intestinal fortitude to go against the internuts
but I'm always interested in your take on this phenomenon, and trading points; trees do not grow to the sky, as they say.

Happy New Year to all.
