Extending its streak of providing DVD technology to award-winning PC systems and demonstrating its dominant position in this market, Quadrant International (QI) delivered DVD capability to four of the desktop systems that won 'Best Products of 1998' awards in PC Computing's year-end issue.

The award-winning desktop systems that incorporate QI's CineMaster '98 Decoders are: Dell(R) Dimension(R) XPS R450, best state-of-the-art desktop PC; Dell(R) Dimension(R) XPS R400, best high-performance PC; HP Vectra(TM) VL Series 7, best desktop workhorse PC; and Sony(R) Vaio(R) PCV-E308DS, best SOHO/home entertainment PC.

"These awards, issued by such a respected industry publication, demonstrate QI's leadership role in the PC-DVD market and will continue to enable the success of our OEM partners," said Leonard Sharp, vice president of marketing at QI. "We're honored to be the only DVD solution provider in PC Computing's award-winning desktop systems. As DVD continues to build market momentum, PC suppliers will continue to see QI as the most effective digital video partner."

QI's modular architecture, unique on the market, allows it to fine-tune its products to meet specific customer system requirements, achieving a precise price/performance balance.

As the first company to supply a PC-based DVD solution, with its CineMaster '98, QI has been in the forefront of the DVD standard as it has developed in the market. In addition to the CineMaster '98 DVD decoders used in PC Computing's award-winning systems, QI provides digital video technology that provides real time MPEG-II encoding and digital TV decoding capabilities.

QI's CineMaster '98 products have achieved recognition from prominent industry organizations, including acknowledgment in PC Magazine's Editor's Choice award, mentions in PC Gamer's "Editor's Choice" list and C/Net's "Buy It" rating.
