RE market timing....

Set some goals for yourself as an investor, if you buy CSCO hoping to make, say 30%, and it hits your 30% goal, sell it, period (if that was your goal....Sure it may go on to double, but one can not play the game of "coulda, shoulda, woulda".

It all depends on your goals, the poster who asked about buying before earnings and selling after and so on- that is speculation and gambling, nothing wrong with it, that's just what it is....

I have done it and still do it with a portion of my portfolio...I usually win some and lose some- anyone who tells you they always win is lying.
