"The letters he wrote were pretty cool." I haven't read them all, but one of my favorite collections with paintings is in Vincent By Himself.

He writes like he paints. Gee. One could read the letters alone and be thrilled. At times I've wanted to post snippets of what he said here, but gee again, maybe only me flips for them, and gee three, I'd have to type them out of a book.

I think of him as one of the most sophisticated humans we have a record of. A natural philosopher extraordinare; a bodhisatva of sorts. For a human, kind of a saint.

Hee hee, I really do. Reading his words, seeing his work, "knowing" what he experienced, how he lived ~ convinced me of this.

He's not just a man to me, he's an archetypal incarnation.

And in some ways, Christ-like, as he carried the burden(s) of humanity. He sought only to increase and serve. It sounds silly, but those are the words of description that come to mind. Always patient, always willing to try. Undaunted by the continuous mysteries and contradictions and labor and tortures god forced on him.

Don't nobody dare say he was a selfish kook; I will bite your tire.
