A couple weeks ago I asked what was up with DTPI.(it doubled in a week) I got an answer from my brother who's in the business. : There were concerns that Goldman sachs would be hurting and cut back on it's use of DTPI, they serve as 10-12 % of DTPI's business. once it was clear that they would make their quarter, the institutions started back in, but with the liquidity that DTPI has, you have to pay to play. Hence the runup. Bottom line, if you see a strong move on big volume, get in or out and enjoy the ride, the last two times this happened, it was a full week of the same trend.

Idle speculation: SFE stock price has followed the last two stochastic signals quite nicely. A buy around $20 in mid Oct., and a sell signal in mid Nov. around $30. It seems strange (given the lack of movement and emotion of late] but SFE is slightly oversold, and if it turns up a little bit, would give a stochastic buy signal. IMO if it broke above $27 on better volume it would be more interesting. It is hard to get excited given the overbought condition of the overall market. Internet mania may have reached a short term zenith which would make sense from a psychological standpoint, that being: the huge move up going into Christmas, and the report on Mon. that E-commerce tripled which caused a further spike. Classic sell on the news. Of more import, is that a friend mentioned that his Dentist was buying CMGI Mon. [around $130]-his first internet stock. Now that is a sell signal better than any stochastic or moving average.(I'm just bitter, because I checked out CMGI a long time ago around $15 I believe, couldn't get a handle on valuation and passed on it. This is a market where experience and knowledge is a definite handicap!] Have a happy New Year. Mike
