It's possible COMS may lead in these markets some day, but they aren't high margin products out of the gate. Quite the opposite. Every company bidding ADSL is losing money as they're expected to seed the market. Alcatel actually backed out of the DT competition b/c ECI bid so low. As for leading in cable modems, recent DataQuest figures have them ranked number 4.

grf fan, high margins are not sustainable on commodity items, so time will tell. xdsl has not propagated as anticipated and acquisition of USRX was COMS attempt to enter that segment.
