Shane:

MB can give you more info than I can, but it's usually done by sector, rather than the whole market...although in the present general market climate, it's easy to see why someone new to the thread would be misled. And it's not always puts, i.e. Mike has been long in biotech and oils lately. He/we don't usually use screens to locate sectors, but use trade info and out of favor sectors that seem to offer promise...or don't seem to. Once a sector seems likely, a screen for pertinent fundamentals would make sense...I do use them, but don't know if MB does. This thread isn't quite like Last Shadow or Market Gems, with formulations based upon a given model...but seems to revolve more around MB, and his knowledge of markets and history. He's been very generous with his time, and strategies...but in return we have to laugh at his jokes.<G>

PS: I'm new to the SI thread, but have followed his thread on Prodigy for some time.

shane, i own puts on nvls and mu. i think both have fair value in the $20s somewhere. i think the "surprise" pc inventory correction will wake people up to the fact that recent anemic grwoth as seasonal. nvls is up nearly 200% on no real news and mu is up 150%+ on seasonal news.

i also own puts on cdwc with the same theme. we need them to pre-announce like ingram and we'll be on our way. i have fair value below $50.

i also own altr as xlnx appears to have captured the edge from them, they aren't growing, their multiple is high and hitachi and others are encroaching on their already tight business environment.

i got in at good prices b/c my brokerage was closed by the nasd and it took time to switch. so, in that month everything went up 150%. what da heck :-)

i'd like to diversify into some banks but see bogus good news ahead and i would also like to time diversify.
