Euro affect alone from Jan 4th 99 makes me inclined to think that as from that date prices shall be quoted in Euro's this should normally will have an impact psychologically as that of a split. The lower monetary units price quotes in Euro may alone bid the price of ADR higher as underlying stocks in Europe may reap some benefits from EURO dividend and quotations in Euro... I think ALA got punished much more severely for short fall preannouncement..
