Thanks Mike for your response. Now let me ask you a really dumb question. I understand that mutual fund managers get bonuses for performance and might want to mark up their funds. What is the motivation of the specialist or market maker? I'm really interested in learning more about their role. Recently bought "The Wall Street Gang" by Ney at our local library sale. Haven't had a chance to read it all, but I think that most believe that he exaggerated greatly. Is there any other book that you could recommend on the subject? TIA
