An ADTN employee told me that they lost out on a major deal with LVLT. Even though they are just a growing CLEC, the revenue it could have produced is astounding. He didn't know who did win the contract, but said that ADC and PairGain were also in the running. This really comes at a bad time when ADTN needs to grow the bottom line. Long on ADTN...? For now. "

Rainmaker,
The sale of 23,520 shs was reported last week. I do subscribe to a service that updates each week. It's not that many shares but probably means a buyout is not imminent. I don't have any more info from ADAX about PAIR. I still think PAIR will be bought out early in '99. The issue is critical mass and "systems" is in. I think the realization that a purchase price is more like 12-15 and not 20 still has to sink in with management.
