OT OT OT Alcohol is a powerful diuretic and will only dehydrate you further than you already are (since you probably aren't eating and drinking as much as you usually do and the air is dry in winter and you may also have a fever and be perspiring more) and make you feel worse in the long run. (Simple dehydration on long flights is one of the main factors in jet-lag.) Much better to drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, take 400-600mg of ibuprofen, get plenty of rest. ...A shot of whiskey at bedtime won't kill you though, and might help you sleep if it doesn't make you get up in the middle of the night to relieve yourself....

If you've been investing in this sector at virtually any time this year, shots of vodka or whiskey would be advisable whether you have a cold or not!
