Elwood: tis the season of red and green. today we get the red, tommorrow the green(may even start late today). Volume light today, another short week.......don't throw in the marriage towel just yet. This is just post honeymoon exhaustion syndrome(23 to 43). Time to rest, regroup, take a viagra and then go to 50+

El: I sold 1/2 of my CPQ position on 12/8 for 42 and 1/4 for 41-3/4 for a 2-3/8 point and 2/1/8 point gain respectively. I got stopped out on the other 1/4 on the 10th for no profit. You've been listening to victor too much (who, by the way, sold on the same day I did and also still thinks CPQ has upside potential). Yes, after holding for more than 14 months - not much of a profit. I have stated previously that I took up TA after getting stuck with CPQ and have learned a lot about when to buy and sell stocks since that time. I didn't do badly before learning TA (I had traded CPQ more than 20 times without a single loss), but I realised that it was pretty much dumb luck. Now my aim is to ride stocks up when they're moving up and get out when they start to base because it's just dead money then - money that I can use to buy something else that is moving. CPQ did its 20% from 35 to 42, just like I said it would - now it's basing again so most of my money is in other things right now. When Cpq starts to move again, I'll be back in with both feet.

El,
If the volume doesn't pick up this afternoon, I was correct about the MM taking the week off. It will be slow, and price will drift until 1/4. Then we should see some preearnings action. Still think it might run up to $48 or $50. Does INTC announce day before CPQ?
