Drakes, if I am not mistaken I seem to remember some of these acquisitions were done in part, with ABT stock. I say this because there was talk about if and when some of the former seed company owners would sell their stake in ABTX. ABT stock ownership by previous owners must have been large enough to warrant speculation that, if they all sold at once, share price would drop substantially.

The Hoss posts made it clearer to me that the whole can be worth more than its parts. If smaller individual seed companies do not have the resources to obtain needed technology to compete, then a larger one like ABT can look very promising. By selling assets at less than 1X sales, those smaller individual companies become part of a bigger, possibly stronger ABTX. Sure, there will be risk but from what many on this and other ABTX threads have said, the smalles are having trouble maintaining profitability. Hoss said as much. What ABT has done to date, may have been timely for those seed companies who sold to ABT as well as for ABTX who needed them to accomplish the goal(s). Just how much ABT stock was given to purchase companies? I don't know. Maybe someone can help with that one.

Drakes, why would you need to qualify a reason for sharing your given name? You should be proud of it. I tend to trust those whom I may address by given name more than those who feel the need to hide it. How about you?
