Bald Faced Hypocricy #2,934,765 - "We must put aside the politics of personal destruction.".

William Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard and a regular on ABC's "This Week," was going on and on yesterday about President Clinton's lack of contrition in the wake of impeachment.

For example, a Los Angeles Times reporter met the president at a White House party last week, and Mr. Clinton "chortled about the impeachment and he compared himself to Ulysses S. Grant," whose personal weakness (hard drinking) did not keep him from greatness, Mr. Kristol noted.

"Clinton laughed about the fact that Larry Flynt is outing people in Washington. He regaled listeners at this party with an account of Larry Flynt's letter to Ken Starr congratulating him for allegedly publishing pornography. Bill Clinton's mood is not that of a chastened man worried about history," Mr. Kristol said.
