Your first mistake - you are attempting to apply rational thought to an irrational sector of the market. :)

Seriously, right now you know as well as I people are buying on potential. You can't look at current earnings. Some of these firms will realize that potential - most won't. However, until there is a slowdown in their balance sheets, speculation will fuel these to the moon.

I agree with your short tactic. I think you'll see a major sell-off in January but don't expect it to last. I expect by end of the year next year, you'll see the same price levels. Wait till AOL, YAhoo, and Amazon have matured and stopped growing, then the sky will REALLY be falling on these speculative stocks. Anyway, my two cents. Yours?
