I wonder if this is true?

Three elevators manufactured by the same company (three consecutive serial numbers) were tested using a year 2000 simulator. One elevator worked correctly. The second went up and did not come down. The third did not work.

How would you use a Y2K simulator (ie some software) on an elevator ?! Wouldnt you just program in the date in the lift control panel as being 2000+, or just before 2000 and let it roll over? And then see what happens?

Not meant to disparage you BTW, but possibly your source!
