Thanks, Lynn. Seems to be a pretty good run down of the *common* shots when traveling to Central and South Am. and similar areas, based on my experience.

One bit of advice I'll add and my experience relates to <<gama globulin (spelling?) for hepatitis>> if I remember correctly. If the doctor/nurse administering the shot warns you about a possible reaction of *loss of bowel control*, take this advice very seriously. I got the shots, went back to my office, and about 30 minutes later as I was sitting at my desk - Whoosh!!!. They were NOT kidding. Kinda' funny in hindsight! (I can still clearly remember attempting to walk *normally* down the seemingly endless hallway to the restroom.) <GGG> ; )

Not that I think everybody's interested in all the details but I wish someone had clued me that the doctor's warning was not just another of the many general precautions. Might save someone else a similar experience!

It's always good to stay up to date on Tetanus shots, but any others outside the ordinary, unless you're planning on traveling to the tropics, would really be unnecessary for any forseeable reason.
