Barbara: Based on FNTN's use of the term "advanced services" I am assuming that it does not mean basic telephony hook-ups. Maura told me that the average mid-sized firm (approx 40 person office -including non-brokers in that 40) pays $15,000 on straight telephony alone, so that 10K figure appears to be missing some ingredients. If you assume that the average client will spend 15K for connectivity alone and assume that just $10K more is spent during the course of the year on advanced services like distance learning ($10K is equivalent of only two video hook-ups per year based on Bloomberg pricing) then each client is spending $35,000 per year.
The question is how much will each client actually spend on these add-ons?
$10K per year? $50K per year?
That's the question!.. and the correct answer will have a dramatic effect on the size of FNTN's eventual success. I don't have that answer and I don't believe that any of us outside of the players knows the answer. I'm not even sure they're ready to share that information. I do know that a lot of time and money and sweat is being spent by both FNTN and Siemens to build this enterprise. My educated guess is that THEY know more than WE know.. and are willing to bank on it.
I've certainly been willing to gamble on it - and nothing has changed my betting strategy. At this stage?..on the contrary!
