Your understanding is correct. One additional X is added.

Did you miss a reversal day? Maybe. Maybe not.

As is often the case now a days, an interday or afterhours drop today might be reversed just as fast tomorrow when the 'real news' comes out or is explained.

It is a part of the p&f methodology. You have to live by the rules to be consistent and unemotional.

What happens with an internut stock that jumps 36 points in one day? Did you miss a breakout buy signal? Maybe, maybe not.....

You'll get the reversal the next day...when it opens up at 41 unless there is after-market activity which shoots the stock price back up again...
