I think it's very unlikely that Apple will be getting into the web portal business. But if they did, I don't see what advantage an Apple branded portal would have over any other more established portal. For one thing, to create an Apple branded portal would be to limit your audience drastically. And the web portal business is all about having large volumes of visitors to generate add revenue.
